'Double Take'

Double Exposure  - A fake Magnolia stem.
Set Up:-
"This image is Essentially a still life shot.
The flower was clamped in a Wimberley p
lamp attached to a tripod and side lit with fairly bright light,
which also added a bit of a shadow to the background.
Quite faint on the image but it gave a much smoother transition from front to back on the final image.
A second tripod held the camera and this was remotely operated
so that I didn’t get in the light path and produce any shadows.
Camera and camera settings:-
Olympus OM-3, 12 – 100mm lens.
12mm at f4 for ¼ sec
Manual exposure, no flash."
Initial set up OM System OM3.
Multiple Exposure on in camera.
Autogain on in camera.
"Autogain automatically adjusts the camera sensitivity to accommodate varying light levels
and is there to give a consistent brightness. I sometimes try it with and without autogain to see the difference.
With the autogain on it will also affect any additional ‘Overlay’ image,
so it can be a bit fiddly particularly since it is not helped by the size of the viewer. on the OM3.
The flowers were positioned so as to allow some camera movement
with the second shot without going outside the white background.
The second shot was a very slight shift to the right
avoiding huge white spaces in the final image.
Although the OM3 will take Black and White images this was on the
everyday setting and I used Image Adjustment in Photoshop to convert to B&W."
