'12 Days of Christmas Challenge'
on Whats App
Each day will offer a simple photographic prompt, moving from
minimal beginnings to richer, more expressive moments,
inspired by the rhythm of the traditional meaning of Christmas.
The challenge is about observation, mood, and intention rather than perfection. One image a day, monochrome, abstract or not, reality or not, interpretation wide open.

Whether you shoot daily or dip in when inspiration strikes,
think of it as a small creative gift ,
as the Christmas spirit ( and the wine) flows, so will the imagination.........
Starting on Christmas day, I'll post  the theme for the day, the only criteria is that the photo be taken and posted on the day of the theme, phones, cameras, whatever is to hand.
Oh yes, just one more criteria, just have fun :-)

Without the pull of colour, attention shifts to light, shadow, texture, and form — the quiet structures that hold an image together. Details become more deliberate, and distractions fall away. In winter especially, monochrome mirrors the season itself: pared back, tonal, and honest.
Shooting without colour encourages slower looking and more intentional framing. It asks what truly matters in the scene, and what can be left out. In the context of this challenge, monochrome isn’t a limitation, but an invitation — to simplify, to focus, and to see with greater clarity.
